The Basics

Q: Do you have a brick-and-mortar shop?

Heck yes! If you wanna say hi IRL you can visit our shop at 1742 Haight Street in the historic Haight-Ashbury district of San Francisco, California, just two blocks from Golden Gate Park.

Q: Which size should I order?

Sock brands are really keen on confusing us all with this one! For the most part our brands use sock size 9-11 for women’s and sock size 10-13 for men’s, which they call one size fits most. Here’s a chart to make it easier to understand!

If you’re like one of our many Sockstars who are anything but average, we encourage you to shop styles you enjoy, regardless of whether the fit is a “men’s” or a “women’s” size.

Q: Do you offer socks in larger sizes?

Of course! If you’re looking for larger men’s sizes we have some king size socks available, and for larger women’s sizes we recommend buying a “men’s” style of a sock as it’s typically just a larger version of the sock. We’ve also got some sweet knee-high socks that are a wide-calf fit for anyone needing a little bit more umph in their lives!

Sock Deets

Q: I want my socks to last forever, how should I wash them?

We carry a lot of different brands with a variety of care instructions, so there’s no definite answer, but we recommend following the care guidelines on the packaging and washing your socks inside out, just to be safe!

Q: Where are these socks made?

Our socks are as diverse as where they come from, and they’re sewn together in places like Korea, France, and of course, America!

Q: I love purchasing products made in America. What options do you have available?

Q: What does “seamless toe” mean?

“Seamless toe” describes the way a sock is knit, so that your tiny toes aren’t bothered with a with a pesky seam. The socks have a very minimal, flat seam at the toe, but it’s woven in a way that does not rub against your toesies. Some of our favorite seamless socks are from Socksmith’s Bamboo line and Stance.

Q: What socks do you carry with high cotton content?

We love our natural fibers! Cotton is good for comfort as well as being a breathable fabric. Our most cottony sock brands include Many MorningsOut of PrintFoot Clothes, and Conscious Step, but don't forget to check out other socks made with natural fibers like bamboo and wool. You can always shop by fiber by filtering on the left side of our website.


Q: Please take my money! What types do you accept?

We accept the usual, such as: PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover.

Q: Can I place an order by phone?

You sure can! Online is often the easiest way, but if you need an extra hand or some friendly recommendations you can call us at +1-415-386-5400 and let us know you’re in need of some urgent sock support!

Q: Can I order custom socks?

We get this one all the time, but unfortunately the answer is no. 😭 Designing and manufacturing socks is quite the process and we’re just not at a level to do that ourselves. If you wanna get a portrait of your pet pug on a sock, you could always search ‘pug’ and we’re sure you’ll find something to love! Our favorite is “Pugs ‘N Kisses” 😘

Q: Can I buy wholesale?

Nope, sorry. Unfortunately we’re just a retailer and cannot offer wholesale discounts.

Q: Do you offer large order discounts?

If you’re buying socks for everyone at work, school or sock hoarder’s anonymous club, we think that’s terrific! Depending on the size of the order we may be able to help you out, so send us an email with some details to and we’ll see what we can do.

Q: Do you offer curbside pickup?

We sure do! If you're local to San Francisco and would prefer to place your order online and pick it up at the shop rather than pay for shipping, you'll have a chance to select "curbside pickup" during the checkout process...and it's absolutely free! We'll even run your socks out to your car if you give us a ring at (415) 386-5400 once you pull up.

Q: How can I check my order and shipping status?

After you place your order, we celebrate with a sock ceremony so glorious we’re kinda sad you’re not here to see it! Once it’s all done, we ship out your order, and you’ll automatically receive an email confirmation that lets you track your shipment right through the email. It’s like magic!

Q: Can I cancel an order once it’s already placed?

Ah! It’s sad to hear that anyone would want to cancel the arrival of such a precious package, but if you must, please send us an email at with your full name and order number as soon as possible. If your socks haven’t shipped, we can stop the process and refund your money. If your order has shipped, you’ll have to receive it, then send it right back to us. Once it arrives we’ll begin the refund process. Unfortunately if your package has already been shipped out you will only be reimbursed for the items purchased but not the shipping and return fees.

Q: I haven’t seen any confirmation emails. Help!

Did you check your spam folder? That didn’t work? Hm...Try logging in to your customer account here and looking up your order. If you’re still having trouble, email us at with your full name and order number and we’ll help you get to the bottom of it.

Q: How do you ship domestic orders?

However your little heart desires! AND don’t forget we offer FREE standard shipping on all domestic orders over $45. We have a few speedier shipping options, and if you place an expedited order Monday-Friday you’ll skip right to the front of the line.

Q: What are these extra customs and VAT taxes???

Customs Duty is a tariff or tax imposed on goods when transported across international borders.

Each country calculates these fees differently, if you’re worried about being charged we recommend calling your local postal service to ask about mailing details.

Discounts and Promotions

Q: I want the deals!!! How can I make this happen?

Who doesn’t love a discount! The best way to stay updated on all of our sales and special promotions is by joining our newsletter. Our Sockstars receive exclusive promotions and get to stay up-to-date on new products and happenings at the shop.

Q: How do I apply the deals?

Once you’ve received a discount code, whether it’s from our website or newsletter, you’ll enter it at checkout. When you’re entering your information at checkout, look for a field that says “discount code,” enter your code, click the “apply” button, and the magic of the internet takes care of the rest.

Q: Can I use multiple coupon codes at once?

Okay now, don’t get greedy. You can only use one discount code at a time. Think of all the other Sockstars!

Q: My order was over $45, then my discount code brought it below. Can I still get free shipping?

Unfortunately, no. Your total must be over $45 after your discount code is applied to still qualify for free shipping.


Q: What is your return policy?

We are so confident you’ll love your socks, we make returns super easy. If for some WILD reason you are not a fan of your order, all items purchased through the site can be returned within 30 days of delivery. The order should be in its original packaging and in an unused condition. Returns are processed within 5-7 business days of being received back in our office. 

Now please be kind to us, and remember that original condition means the socks have not been worn, tried on, or washed. All items need to be in their original, unopened packaging for us to successfully process your return.

Q: Can I exchange my socks for something different?

Abso-freakin-lutely. If you’d like to swap your original purchase for a different pair, all you have to do is order the new socks, and return your original purchase using the process outlined 👆. We’ll process your refund as soon as we receive the socks back in store!
